Ben Hur Rural Development Centre is suited south-east of Gobabis on the C22 route to Aminuis and Aranos about 50 kilometers away. The Centre is situated on Farm Tsjaka part of the ten farms that forms the Tsjaka Resettlement Area in the Kalahari Constituency of Omaheke Region. Brief History of BHRDC
Ben Hur Rural Development Centre is currently under the management of Omaheke Regional Council. The Centre was established by the Tswana Representative Government during the pre-independence dispensation and was transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture after independence. After Oxfam Canada terminated their activities the Centre was transferred to the Ministry of Regional Local Government Housing and Rural Development who in turn signed a Management Contract with Komeho Development Agency in 2004. Komeho Namibia managed the Centre for the past eight years through extensions of the Contract until 31 March 2013. From March 2013 to March 2017 the centre was managed by Ngoma Consultacy Services.
Ben Hur Rural Development Centre is the hub of developmental activities and cooperation in Omaheke region and other surrounding regions. It contributes
to sustainable enhancement of quality life of the rural communities.
